DANIELS, W.Va. -- The men's and women's golf team began their 2023-2024 seasons at the Glade Spring Fall Kickoff, hosted by the University of Charleston this week.
The D&E women finished fifth in the event with a two-day total of 735. Charleston and Glenville finished tied for the lead at 642 and Charleston secured the win with a scorecard playoff (fifth player's score). UVA-Wise was third (681), Fairmont State was fourth (719), West Liberty was sixth (767), and Concord was seventh (768).
Marina Noti put together D&E's low score of the tournament. Her 157 (80, 77) tied for third overall and four strokes off the medalist.

On the men's side, D&E played to a three-round score of 907, which also put them in fifth. Glenville State was the tournament champion at 879. IUP finished second (880), Mount Olive was third (893), and Charleston was fourth (899). Round out the field were Emory & Henry (907), Virginia Union (911), Fairmont (920), Bluefield (926), Concord (931), West Liberty (951), West Virginia State (958) and West Virginia Wesleyan (959).
Matin Eisa and
Evan Lewis led D&E. Eisa had low rounds of 71 (-1) and 69 (-2) in the first and second round. Lewis put together even par first and third rounds.
