LANDISVILLE, Pa. -- Millersville University took the doubles point and split the singles here Saturday night to take a 4-3 decision from Davis & Elkins College.
MU won pivotal singles matches at the number one and five spots to fend off a comeback bid from the visiting Senators, who drop to 1-3 on the spring season.
"A couple of the guys were a little slow in adapting to the courts, and their opponents took advantage of that with some strong offensive play", said head coach
Mark Walters.
"We had a good effort, but a few of our younger guys are still learning to travel, play big matches, and execute in key doubles situations. It was a good learning experience for them, and we will get better with more matches."
Taiki Umeda,
Filippo Buffo, and
Anthony Martins each won singles matches for D&E.
