DANIELS, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College men's golf team won the Golden Bear Classic this week at the Cobb Course at Glade Springs Resort in Beckley, West Virginia. The event was hosted by West Virginia Tech and is the final event of the regular season for coach
Alasdair Forsythe's team.
D&E held a six-shot lead after a round one score of +16, 304. The Senators were led by
Evan Lewis with an even-par 72 in the second and final round, which lifted him inside the top 5 individually.
Jordan Hyland shot 75 (+3) which was enough for his second top-three finish in the team's last two events.
Matin Eisa followed with a 77 (+5), carding 4 birdies in his round, and
Sean McAufield finished the counting scores with a 79 (+7). That gave D&E a 303 (+`15) total for the final round, a 607 (+31) total for the tournament, and a 5 shot victory over second-place Concord University.

Next up for the Senator's men's golf team is a trip to Victor, New York for the NCAA D2 East/Atlantic Regional Championship. The event is held at Ravenwood Golf Club, from May 5-7, where the team will look to secure a bid to play in their second national championship in a row.
