ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Davis & Elkins College men's golf team dominated the field this week in the Regional Preview tournament, held at Ravenwood Golf Club in Rochester, New York. Team captain Jordan Hyland fought back from five shots behind after round one, to clinch a stunning individual win. It was Hyland's second win of his college career and first of the spring season.

Round One
D&E battled freezing cold and windy conditions throughout round one. Hyland led the team with a 73 (+1), a hat-trick of birdies on holes 10, 11, and 12 got his round back on track and he finished solidly. He sat in a tie for second place, five shots off the pace of Alex Easthom of West Liberty University heading into the second and final round.
Matin Eisa followed with a 75 (+3) and Sean McAufield had a 76 (+4) after a good opening nine of one under par. Evan Lewis rounded out the counting scores with a 77 (+5), for a team score of 301 (+13), and a one-stroke lead overnight.

Round Two
Jordan Hyland carded six birdies in the hunt for the individual title on day two. He was able to gain the lead with a hole to play after a chip-in birdie on 14 and a tap-in birdie on 16 and closed out on his final hole. He signed for the day's low score of 70 (-2) for a 143 (-1) tournament total and a one-stroke win!
Sean Addie bounced back from a poor first round with an even-par 72. McAufield shot 74 (+2) and Eisa played his last nine holes of the day in two under par to bounce back from a rocky start and card a 78 (+6).

During round two, the Senators pulled away from the field, finishing with a fantastic team score of 294 (+6), which was enough for a 16-shot margin of victory. The team will return to Ravenwood GC for the Regional Championship on May 5-7 when they look to secure a top-four place and back-to-back National Championship bids.

Up next for coach Alasdair Forsythe's team is a trip to Indiana, Pa. for the Spadafora IUP Invitational held at Indiana Country Club in Indiana, PA. The tournament will be one round on April 18th and one round on April 19th.
