WARREN, Ohio – Davis & Elkins used a second-round best finish to jump into second place on Day 2 of the Mountain East Conference Men's Golf Championships. The Senator men fired a combined 298 after shooting a first-round 308 and sit just one stroke behind the University of Charleston with eighteen holes to play.
Jack Coleman is low man for the Senators, sitting in sixth-place at +6 and following rounds of 76 and 74.
Lewis Beeden follows Coleman closely in a tie for seventh at +7 with rounds of 74 and 77.
After beginning the round in a tie for twenty-first, Evan Lewis jumped up to a tie for tenth after posting 73 on Day 2. He sits at +9 and 153 total.
Jordan Hyland carded a 74 on Day 2 to jump up a bit as well. He sits in a tie for seventeenth at +11.
Sean McAufield also had solid rounds for the Senators, carding rounds of 78 and 80 for a +14. He sits in a tie for twenty-second.
The top six teams and top three individuals make the cut for the final round.
D&E's golfers are expected to tee off beginning at 9:20am on Wednesday for the third and final round.
