THE OPENING TIPÂ
With five teams separated by just two games at the bottom of the compressed MEC standings, Davis & Elkins men's basketball will look to get back in the win column on Wednesday night in a matchup with Urbana at the McDonnell Center. The Senators have dropped consecutive games, but look to get a much-needed win while handing Urbana its seventh straight loss.
The Davis & Elkins acrobatics & tumbling team will be performing a modified version of its team routine at halftime of the contest.Â

Â
DAVIS & ELKINS NOTESÂ
- D&E battled back late in a 72-68 loss to Wheeling last time out. The Senators cut the deficit to just two with under one minute remaining twice, but never held a lead in the second half against the Cardinals.
- Donte Doleman leads the MEC and ranks 18th nationally in three-point field goal percentage, canning 45.6% of his shots from behind the arc. The senior guard is set to play in his 90th collegiate game on Wednesday night.
- Erkam Kiris is second on the team with 14.7 points/game and leads the squad in rebounding average (6.7). Kiris is among the most efficient players from the field in the league, converting 50.5% of his field goal attempts, ranking just outside the top 10 of the MEC.
- D&E is fourth in the league with 145 steals this season, led by a team-high 27 from Patrick Wilburn.
- The Senators have had a plus rebounding margin in just two games this season, with one of them coming against Urbana last December.
- Myles Monroe is second on the team in minutes/game (26.5) and third on the squad in scoring average (13.0).
- Mandela Baledrokadroka chipped in nine points last time out for D&E, but has continued to be the team's primary distributor, averaging 5.6 assists/game over the last six contests.
SCOUTING URBANA
- A young team, three of Urbana's top four scorers are freshman, including a team-best 11.4 points/game from Tehree Horn.
- The Blue Knights are third in the league in scoring defense, allowing just 75.3 points/game. Part of that strong defensive effort comes from the ability to alter shots in the paint, as the Blue Knights are second in the MEC with 70 blocks this season.
- Jordan Bradley is second on the team in scoring and dropped in 21 points for the Blue Knights in the previous meeting with D&E.
- Urbana's last conference win came at home against Frostburg State on January 11, marking the 100th career victory for head coach Josh Gibson.
- The Blue Knights are fifth in the conference in offensive rebounding, pulling down an average of 10.35 per game.
