• How It Happened: Trailing by as many as 16 in the second half, a Davis & Elkins comeback effort came up short as Jaylon Johnson converted two of three foul shots with less than one second remaining in regulation to break a scoreless tie, allowing the visiting Bobcats to escape with a 76-74 conference victory over Davis & Elkins inside the McDonnell Center.

  
DAVIS & ELKINS NOTES 

• With two games left in the regular season, no team has been mathematically eliminated from the MEC Tournament picture. Though tied for last with Urbana, Davis & Elkins can make the tournament by winning its last two games and getting some help from around the league, which would include a Frostburg State loss to Fairmont State later this week.
• Donte Doleman ranks seventh in the MEC in scoring average, posting an average of 17.8 points/game. Doleman has played extensive minutes this season, ranking second in the league at 63.2 minutes/game.
• Erkam Kiris has pushed his streak of games in double figures to 12 straight following 19 points and eight rebounds against Glenville State.
• Patrick Wilburn delivered the finishing touches on an 81-78 win with a pair of foul shots at the seven-second mark to pull the Senators ahead by three.
• D&E has picked up the defensive intensity of late, limiting teams to 76.3 points/game over the last three contests. That output would rank fourth in the MEC relative to team's numbers for the entire season.
• Mandela Baledrokadroka ranks sixth in the MEC in assists/game (4.2), one of just six players to average four assists or more per contest.
• Myles Monroe worked his back into the starting lineup against the Pioneers, compiling an all-around effort with 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists and one steal.

 
SCOUTING FROSTBURG STATE

• The Bobcats can secure a spot in the conference tournament with a win against the Senators on Wednesday.
• Daniel Alexander is the leading scorer in the league, averaging 21.3 points/game. The senior guard has racked up 30 or more points on five occasions this season, including the first meeting against D&E on November 26.
• Frostburg State has had its fair share of close games, posting a 6-1 record in games decided by five points or less.
• The Bobcats have dropped each of their last three games, including back-to-back home decisions against #16 West Liberty (117-74) and Wheeling (77-71).
