BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. - Helping to lead the charge for the Senators in their return to action during the indoor track & field season last weekend,
Roxine Chambers earned the Mountain East Conference (MEC) Women's Track Athlete of the Week award, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
Chambers was part of a small group competing in the WVU Open on January 11, marking the first indoor action since December 7. Chambers, a senior sprinter from Baltimore, Md., won the 400-meter dash in 1:02.80 and finished second in the 200-meter dash (27.19).
Chambers finished the 200 just behind West Virginia's Michaela Rose, while teammate
Samantha Kirk finished in third (27.95).
Davis & Elkins returns to action on Saturday, January 18 at Marietta for the Pioneer Open.
