THE OPENING TIP 
Looking to snap a five-game losing skid, Davis & Elkins returns to the friendly confines of the McDonnell Center for its first home game in nearly a month, welcoming Charleston (W. Va.) for a Saturday afternoon clash. A shorthanded Senators squad dropped a road matchup at West Virginia State, 90-73, on January 8. Meanwhile, Charleston routed West Virginia Wesleyan, 102-77, last time out.

  • How It Happened: Charleston opened up a 51-23 lead at the intermission and cruised to a 99-68 win against the Senators inside the McDonnell Center. Emre Yildirim and Donte Doleman posted nine points apiece, but had no answers for Charleston, which shot 61.5% from the floor that evening.
 
DAVIS & ELKINS NOTES 
  • Donte Doleman recorded his third consecutive matchup with 23 points in a 90- 73 road loss to WV State last time out.
  • Entering this afternoon, Doleman leads the MEC with 78 free throw attempts so far in 2019-20.
  • Saturday marks the Senators first home contest since December 12.
  • Myles Monroe dropped in 12 points in 20 minutes against WV State. The junior guard has scored 10+ points in 10 of 13 games this season.
