GLENVILLE, W.Va -
The Senators Track & Field teams continued a strong outdoor season with their performances Friday at the Brandi Bowen Invitational at Glenville State College.
Samantha Kirk broke a school record in the 400m, winning the event with a time of 58.20
Rebecca Laberge won the 800m, setting a school record in the process with her time of 2:23.26. Four other Senators placed in the 800m, with
Skylee Watson in 2nd,
Danielle Haynes in 3rd, Nora Pierre (7th), and
Lavania Lemasters (8th) in the event.
The 4x100 relay team of
Megan Augustine,
Samantha Kirk,
Roxine Chambers and
Roxanne McFarlin set a school record in 48.59, a time that finished third in the event but currently leads the GMAC.
The Women's 4x400 relay team of
Rebecca Laberge,
Samantha Kirk,
Roxine Chambers, and
Roxanne McFarlin won that event with their 4:00.50 time.
Scott Barker led the way in the 1500 with a time of 4:08.50, to pace four other Senators placers in that event.
Aidan Konhaus (3rd),
Emeric Arnaud (4th),
Tyler Greer (7th), and
Travis Pickering (8th) rounded out the placers in that D&E-dominated event.
Dawson Scheufele finished second in the 800m in 1:59.10, but was the top collegiate finisher in the event. Colin Hayes was second in the Steeple event.
Megan Augustine had a strong day with third-place finishes in the 100m and 200m, and
Skylee Watson and
Danielle Haynes finished 2nd and 3rd in the 1500m.
The Senators will return to the track for a one-day event on Friday, taking part in the Jasmine Claggett Memorial in Buckhannon, West Virginia.
