The Davis & Elkins College Senators Outdoor Track & Field teams continued a strong start to their season with great performances at the Jasmine Claggett Memorial Invitational hosted by West Virginia Wesleyan College on Friday.
The Women had four event winners on the day to cap off a strong performance.
Samantha Kirk extended her school record in the 400m Hurdles, moving up into the second best time in GMAC history, tops in the conference.
Roxine Chambers won the 400m with a time of 58.6, the first time under 59 seconds in school history.
Danielle Haynes won the 5K in a time of 19:52, with Eleonora Pierre finishing third.
The 4x100 team of
Megan Augustine,
Samantha Kirk,
Roxine Chambers and
Roxanne McFarlin won with a time of 48.72.
Jakeya Perrin was second in the 200m,
Rebecca Laberge came in second in the 800m, and
Roxanne McFarlin placed third in the 100m.
Rosa Plaugher broke a school record in the shot put (9.40 meters).
On the Men's side,
Emeric Arnaud won the 10k in 32:27, and the Men's 4x100 team of
Nico Scarangello,
Timothy Campbell-Fowler,
Chris Berman and
Dymere Jones set a school record.
Dawson Scheufele was 2nd in the 800m,
Dymere Jones came in 2nd in the 110m Hurdles, and
Daniel Jarrell finished second in the 400m.
Scott Barker led a 3-4-5 team finish in the 1500m, finishing ahead of
Felix Buck-Gramcko (4th), and
Aidan Konhaus (5th).
The Senators will return to the track for a big meet this weekend at the Duke University Invitational in Durham, NC on Friday and Saturday.
