RICHMOND, Va. -
Samantha Kirk's time of 63.04 in the 400m Hurdles highlighted a strong performance by the Women's Track & Field Team at the Fred Hardy Invitational hosted by the University of Richmond over the weekend.
The field was comprised of several Division I programs, and Kirk's time was the 4th fastest overall, and the best time of any DII runner. This time also currently leads the GMAC, is a school record, and sits as the third fastest time in GMAC History in the 400 meter Hurdles event.
Kirk also came in with a time of 26.40 in the 200m Sprint, and
Roxine Chambers finished with a time of 60.16 in the 400m.
Skylee Watson led the way in the 800m, breaking a school record in 2:26.44, while
Rebecca Laberge (2:26.82) and
Danielle Haynes (2:28.19) also finished with strong times in the event.
Danielle Haynes ran her 1500m in 4:58, just ahead of
Skylee Watson's 5:04 time.
The Senators will return to the track on Friday at Glenville State in the Brandi Bowen Invitational.
