FLORENCE, Ind. — The Davis & Elkins College men's golf team wrapped up the Belterra Classic at Belterra Golf Club with a sixth-place finish among 10 NCAA Division II teams, posting a three-round total of 6,872 (+59) on March 30-31.

Lucio Pavicich led the Senators, shooting rounds of 70, 75, and 71 for a three-day total of 216. Pavicich's strong final round 71 helped anchor the team's performance and keep D&E competitive throughout the tournament. Wouter Vondeling added a solid performance with rounds of 82, 76, and 74, while Luke Grilliot carded 80, 78, and 78. Hugo Mayorga posted rounds of 73, 74, and 84, and Samuel Rached contributed 82, 87, and 80.

In round one, Pavicich fired a 70 to help the team stay near the top of the leaderboard, while Mayorga posted a 73. Round two saw Vondeling improve to 76, keeping the Senators within striking distance. The final round featured strong play from Pavicich and Vondeling, with Pavicich's even-par 71 highlighting the team's efforts.

No. 45 Missouri S&T captured the team title at 10-under-par, with No. #33 Wayne State (MI) finishing second at 2-under. Ashland [A] placed third at +29. The Senators outpaced Ashland [B] and Thomas More, rounding out the middle of the leaderboard.

Davis & Elkins returns to action April 7-8 at the Mountain East Conference Spring Classic hosted by Wheeling University at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, W. Va. The team will look to build on its Belterra performance and continue its push in conference competition.
