Senators Tabbed Fourth in 2026 MEC Women’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll

ELKINS, W. Va. — Davis & Elkins College women's lacrosse was selected fourth in the 2026 Mountain East Conference Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches and announced Wednesday.

Frostburg State was chosen as the preseason favorite after winning its third straight MEC championship, collecting five first-place votes. Charleston received one first-place vote, while Wheeling, Davis & Elkins, Point Park and West Virginia Wesleyan rounded out the poll. Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own teams.

The Senators are coming off a 7-12 season in 2025 and return a veteran core that includes multiple All-MEC honorees and team captains.

Junior Rylee Anderson returns as one of the top offensive threats in the conference after leading the Senators with 38 goals and 47 points to go along with nine assists. Anderson recorded 90 shots with a .422 shooting percentage, put 69 shots on goal, and added 40 ground balls, 13 caused turnovers and 17 free-position goals. Anderson was named Second Team All-MEC following the season.

Junior Ke'ya Stevens also returns after finishing second on the team in scoring with 29 goals and 34 points. Stevens added five assists, collected 39 ground balls, caused 13 turnovers and controlled 53 draws while recording 15 free-position goals. She earned Honorable Mention All-MEC honors in 2025.

Senior captain Morgan Rogers provides veteran leadership after totaling 17 goals and 13 assists for 30 points last season. Rogers added 31 ground balls, caused 14 turnovers and posted a .786 shot-on-goal percentage.

Defensively, junior captain Zoe Mackey anchored the unit and earned First Team All-MEC honors after tallying 70 ground balls and forcing 34 turnovers across the season. Sierra Walesheck also received Honorable Mention All-MEC accolades after recording 62 ground balls and 29 caused turnovers to help solidify the back line.

In goal, senior captain Megan Bauer returns after securing Second Team All-MEC honors. Bauer made 194 saves in 2025 while facing 536 shots, recording a .470 save percentage and earning three wins for the Senators.

Additional returning contributors include senior midfielder Izzie Sevilla, fifth-year defender and captain Kimmy Winoker, and fifth-year midfielder and team captain Josephine Whorton.

Dominican University of California will compete in the 2026 MEC Championship but was not eligible for inclusion in the preseason poll.

The MEC women's lacrosse preseason poll was voted on by the league's head coaches.
