Davis & Elkins Names Justin Salge Head Baseball Coach

ELKINS, W.Va. — Davis & Elkins College Director of Athletics Dr. Jennifer Riggleman has announced the hiring of Justin Salge as the head coach of the Senators baseball program.

Salge brings more than a decade of coaching and administrative experience to Davis & Elkins, including leadership roles at multiple collegiate programs across NCAA Division III, junior college and NAIA baseball.

"We are excited to welcome Justin to Davis & Elkins College," Riggleman said. "He has built a strong reputation as a coach, recruiter and mentor, and his experience in collegiate programs will be a tremendous asset to our student-athletes and baseball program."

Most recently, Salge served as associate head baseball coach at San Antonio Warren High School in Texas, helping guide the program to back-to-back postseason appearances while developing numerous all-district and all-state performers.

Prior to his time at Warren, Salge served as an assistant baseball coach at Linfield University, an NCAA Division III institution in Oregon. During his tenure, he helped improve the program's offensive production while integrating advanced technology and analytics into player development. The Wildcats also produced multiple all-conference selections and 23 Northwest Conference Scholar-Athletes during his time on staff.

Salge previously served as head baseball coach at North American University, where he was tasked with building the institution's startup baseball program. He directed all aspects of the program, including recruiting, scheduling, budgeting, staffing and day-to-day operations before athletics activities were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before North American, Salge spent three seasons as head baseball coach at Houston Community College. He oversaw all facets of the program while implementing player development systems that led to significant improvements in offensive and defensive performance. Under his leadership, Houston Community College won the 2017 NCBA District VII Championship and qualified for regional competition. The program also captured the 2018 NCBA Rocky Lone Star South Conference Championship and advanced to the regional finals.

In addition to his coaching experience, Salge has served in several baseball operations and player development roles, including positions with Menlo College, the Power Summer Collegiate League and the Tampa Bay Rays' MLB Tryout Camps.

Salge earned a Doctor of Education in Global Sport Leadership from East Tennessee State University, a Master of Education in Sport Administration from Midwestern State University and a bachelor's degree in history from Stephen F. Austin State University.
