LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Three standout members of the Davis & Elkins College softball team earned 2025 NFCA Division II All-Atlantic Region honors, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced Thursday (May 8) afternoon.
Senior first baseman Linzey Allard was named to the All-Region First Team, while junior designated player Ashlyn Zapach and senior outfielder Lina Gutierrez were both selected to the Second Team.
Allard, the 2025 Mountain East Conference Player of the Year, anchored the Senators' offense before a season-ending injury cut her campaign short. Despite playing in just 45 games, she posted a .403 batting average with 60 hits, 13 doubles, 13 home runs and 42 RBIs.
Zapach was a consistent force at the plate, appearing in 53 games and batting .410 with a 1.097 OPS. She tallied 71 hits, 18 doubles, eight home runs and 52 RBIs.
Gutierrez, known for her speed and ability to get on base, recorded a .383 average across 56 games. She notched 77 hits, seven triples, scored 45 runs, and led the team with 15 stolen bases.
The trio played pivotal roles in leading Davis & Elkins to a strong season and deep postseason run in the MEC Softball Championship. With these honors, all three are now eligible for selection to the 2025 NFCA Division II All-America teams, which will be announced Wednesday, May 21 at the NCAA Division II Championship Banquet in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The NFCA All-Region awards recognize the most outstanding softball student-athletes from each of the nation's eight regions. Nominations and voting are conducted by NFCA member head coaches.
