Eight Senators Earn All-MEC Honors, Rasco MEC Champion at Outdoor Track Championships

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. — Davis & Elkins College track and field wrapped up the 2025 Mountain East Conference Outdoor Championships with a strong showing across the distance and mid-distance events, highlighted by eight all-conference selections and a conference title from senior Ryan Rasco in the men's 800-meter run.

Rasco claimed the MEC title in the men's 800 meters, crossing the line in 1:53.90 to earn First Team All-MEC honors. He also contributed to the Senators' 4x400-meter relay team, which finished eighth. Teammates Jackson Gibson (5th, 1:54.81) and Cooper Gibson (7th, 1:55.37) also scored in the event, combining for 16 team points.

Gibson added an Honorable Mention All-MEC nod with a third-place finish in the 1,500 meters (3:55.34), while Carter McKenna was just behind in fourth (3:55.75), and Cooper Gibson again scored in fifth (3:56.88). McKenna added a fifth-place finish in the 5,000 meters (15:01.09), good for another Honorable Mention All-MEC selection.

In the distance races, Jordan Thomas placed second in the 10,000 meters with a time of 31:03.64, earning Second Team All-MEC honors. He added a fourth-place finish in the 5,000 meters (15:09.05) to contribute 13 total points to the team.

Lydia Falkenstein was a double all-conference honoree, earning Second Team All-MEC in the 10,000 meters (36:30.81) and Honorable Mention in the 5,000 meters (18:18.31). Savanna Hardman finished third in the 10,000 meters (36:40.45) and fourth in the 5,000 meters (18:53.04), collecting Honorable Mention recognition in the 10,000 meters.

Lauren Twyman claimed Second Team All-MEC in the women's 1,500 meters, finishing second in 4:34.22. She also added a fifth-place finish in the 800 meters and contributed to the women's 4x400-meter relay. Senior Ella Hesson earned Honorable Mention All-MEC in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, where she finished third (11:34.95).

Additional top performances included:

  • Ian Wood scored in both hurdle events, finishing fifth in the 400-meter hurdles (55.47) and placing ninth in the 110-meter hurdles prelims.

  • Konnor Allison earned points in both the 3,000-meter steeplechase (8th) and the 5,000 meters (4th).

  • Cooper Gibson scored in three individual events: the 800 meters, 1,500 meters, and as a member of the 4x400 relay team.
