Box Score JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 21, 2025) – Carson-Newman used an early offensive surge to secure a 7-4 victory over Davis & Elkins on Friday at The Vick. The Eagles plated six runs in the first two innings and held off the Senators' mid-game rally to claim the non-conference win.
D&E (3-10) tallied nine hits in the game, including home runs from Linzey Allard and Jules Gutierrez. Allard went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a homer, while Gutierrez added a solo shot and two hits of her own.
Freshman pitcher Alyssia Munoz (0-3) took the loss for the Senators, allowing six earned runs on eight hits over 1.2 innings. Saylor Kneeland entered in relief and held the Eagles to one run on four hits with no walks over the final 4.1 innings.
Carson-Newman's pitching staff combined for 10 strikeouts, with starter L. Spradlin earning the win after tossing a complete game, allowing four runs on nine hits.
Defensively, Davis & Elkins played an error-free game, with first baseman Allard recording nine putouts.
