ELKINS, W. Va. - The Mountain East Conference office released their 2024-25 women's golf preseason coaches poll this afternoon, ranking the Senators team fourth with 39 points.
In first place is Glenville State, last year's MEC Champions, with 63 points and garnering seven first-place votes. In second is the University of Charleston with 58 points and receiving 2 first-place nods. Third is Fairmont State with 47 points, and rounding out the top five teams is West Liberty with 32 points.
The Davis & Elkins women's team is small but formidable, returning last year's freshman phenom and First-Team All-MEC honoree
Marina Saviceva-Noti. Noti narrowly missed medaling at last year's MEC Championships, falling behind two strokes via tiebreaker, but was named to the MEC All-Tournament team. In addition, the Senators return fellow sophomores
Gadea Melgarejo,
Grace Bronkella, and
Alexis Herndon.
The D&E women tee off for the 2024-25 season at the Golden Eagle Invitiational hosted by the University of Charleston on September 9-10 at Edgewood Country Club in Charleston, West Virginia.
