Jan Thewes, and
Henry Schmidt have been named to the outdoor track Atlantic All-Region team.
All Region honors for the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season were announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the regular season. Top-5 individuals and Top-3 Relays in each event from each region earned All-Region honors.
McKenna earned his all-region honors in the 5000m running a season best time of 14:37.02. The junior McKenna between cross country, indoor, and outdoor track is an impressive ten-time all-region winner.
Thewes earned his all-region in the 3000m steeplechase running a season best time of 8:58.45. The time ended up 24
rd in all of the NCAA D2 for the event and Thewes missed qualification to the NCAA Championships by just 4-spots. It was the juniors third all-region honor of his career.
Schmidt picked up his fist ever all-region in the 10,000m, his time in the event was 31:16. The senior just missed a second all-region honor as he also finished 6
th in the region in the 3000m steeplechase.
The Senators had another eight performances that finished in the top-ten in the Atlantic Region rankings as individuals and just missing all-Region honors: Lauren Twyman (7
