Williamsburg, Ky. - The Davis & Elkins men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) here Tuesday afternoon. 

The number 21 ranked Patriots dominated the doubles, giving up just one game across three matches and then took five of the six singles matches in straight sets. 

D&E freshman Duarte Correia scored the only win on the day for the Senators, with a 4-6, 7-5 (10-8) victory at number one singles. 

"Duarte has been all-round it the past week looking for a win against some solid guys, and today he got over the hump in the big games and points," said coach Mark Walters. "He is improving quickly in his on-court presence and ability to fight back from adversity, so he is on track to make some waves in our conference matches next month."

The Senators wrap up their spring break trip with a match at Lincoln Memorial University on Wednesday at 2:00pm. The Railsplitters will host the match at the Art Brill Indoor Tennis Center on the LMU main campus.
