Geneva, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins track team participated in the Spire Collegiate Games on Saturday. The meet lasted nearly 12-hours long and was one of biggest track meets (total competitors) the Senators have ever competed in. The meet featured nearly 50 colleges and close to 15 Division one programs.
Highlights on the day included:
Thijs Terlouw winning the 3000m (8:31) and teammate
Jan Thewes (8:38) finishing 4
th place.
The men's mile race was a program best race in many ways.
Charlie Stephenson (4:12.95) led a D&E charge of four Senators under the previous school record in the event with
Jackson Gibson (4:13.29),
Cooper Gibson (4:13.31), and
Carter McKenna (4:14.39) following closely behind. The Senators finished 2
nd, 4
th, 5
th, and 6
th in the loaded mile field of 87 competitors.
The freshman Stephenson now has broken the Mile, 3K, and 5K records this indoor season.
Ryan Rasco (1:54.91) and
Jackson Gibson (1:55.20) ran the second and third fastest times in program history in the men's 800.
Lydia Falkenstein improved her 3000m time (10:25) to finish 7
th in the event. The time is 3
rd best in program history.
Lauren Twyman (5:18) and
Cameryn Wheeler (5:19) ran the second and third fastest times in program history in the women's mile with both just missing top 10 finishes in a field of 75 competitors.

The Senators is a trip to Huntington, WV for the two day MEC Championships February 17
th-18
