LEXINGTON, Va. – Davis & Elkins women's golf team was tied for second after the first day and one shot behind Charleston with a team total of 329 at the Lexington Golf & Country Club but fell two spots after day two and finished fourth.
Paulina Narvaez lead the way on the first day with a 78 and
Lucrezia Speranza shot an 82 the first round.
On the second day of play, Glenville State climbed back from fourth place and eight strokes back to take the win by two strokes over Charleston. Wheeling finished third.
Narvaez finished tied for fourth overall (78/82) with a 160 total. Speranza was seventh (82/80) with rounds totaling 162.
Sierra Knowlton finished in at tie for twelfth (85/81, 166).
Michelle Guerra tied for eighteenth (84/87, 171).
Madelyn St. Mary tied for thirtieth (97/93, 190).
Narvaez earned first-team All-Conference, while Speranza and Guerra earned second-team All-Conference and Knowlton earned honorable mention.
Medalist honors went to Charleston's Iciar Canalejo. Canalejo was also named Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year. Glenville's Mike McGarry was named Coach of the Year.
