LEXINGTON, Va. – The Davis & Elkins track teams continued seeing records fall and top-10 finishes add up at the Winter Relays, hosted by the Virginia Military Institute on February 3-4.
Three more records were broken highlighted by the Men's 4x800, not only setting the school record but also easily winning the event. The team finished nearly 13-seconds in front of the second place team (DI Saint Francis). The record setting (7:59.41) group included Sophomore Jackson Gibson and three freshmen; Martin Lucas, Cooper Gibson, and Konnor Allison.
Both the men's and women's 300m record was set at the meet, with Freshman Jonathan Griffin finishing 8th overall in the event and Senior Roxanne McFarlin finishing 4th overall in the event in her record-breaking race.
The Senators also had another event overall winner with Sophomore Carter McKenna winning the mile (4:17) to lead a group of four teammates in the top-10: Jackson Gibson (2nd, 4:19), Cooper Gibson (5th, 4:25), and Konnor Allison (8th, 4:28).
In all, the Senators had a total of 12 top-10 finishes to go with the three records and two event wins, continuing to show strong in indoor competition season.
The other top-10 finishes were: Savanna Hardman (5th, Mile), McFarlin (400, 8th), and Lauren Twyman (800, 9th) for the women. Martin Lucas (5th, 800) and Cooper Gibson (10th, Mile) on the men's side.

The Senators will be back in action again this upcoming week with a trip to the Spire Institute near Cleveland, Ohio to compete in the Spire Collegiate Indoor Games. The meet will be the last regular season meet in advance of the MEC Indoor Championships.
