Youngstown, Ohio -- The Senator men's and women's track and field teams opened their indoor seasons Friday when they competed at the YSU Icebreaker, hosted by Youngstown State University. The meet featured thirty-six different competing colleges, including many NCAA Division I institutions.
Highlighting the men's performances on the day was the 1-2 finish for Carter McKenna and Charlie Stephenson in the men's 3000m, running 8:32 and 8:35, respectively. Both McKenna and Stephenson were better than the YSU Ice Breaker meet record to open the season in impressive fashion.
Lauren Twyman highlighted the women's team's performances, finishing second overall in the 3000m finishing in 10:47.
