ELKINS, W.Va. -- Following a bit of shake up in the Atlantic Region, Davis & Elkins remains in the top ten in the Division II College Sports Communicators (D2CSC) Men's Basketball Atlantic Region Poll at the #7 spot.
The Senators, who had fallen from sixth to eighth in last week's poll following losses to Seton Hill and West Liberty and a win over Wheeling, move back up to seventh in this week's poll after a 2-0 week last week. D&E had a convincing home win over Notre Dame College on December 6, 102-79 and followed with a road win at Salem, 74-61.
West Liberty fell from the first position to #2 following a nine-point loss to Charleston despite having four of the six first-place votes. Charleston then lost to Wheeling on a last-second tip-in three days later.
Charleston leads the Mountain East Conference standings with a 5-1 MEC record. West Liberty and D&E are close behind at 4-1.
At present, the Senators are holding opponents to just 72.0 points per game (second in the MEC) and scoring 81.6 points per game (fourth in the MEC), which gives them an 8.7-point scoring margin (second in the MEC).
Sam Rolle IV is tied for third in the league in scoring, with 16.2 points per game and leads the MEC with 6.0 assists per game.
Clarens Pierre has amassed 21 blocks this season, which leads the MEC.
Tristan Starks sits third in the MEC in three-point field goals made per game with 2.4.
D&E host Slippery Rock on Thursday, December 14 at 6pm in the McDonnell Center.
