Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. -- Following a shift of venue due to an unplayable surface at West Virginia Wesleyan, D&E put two goals on the board midway through the first half but was unable to find the net again in a physical, stop-and-start game that the Senators ultimately won 2-0.
Kevin Zapata was first to score. His goal in the twenty-first minute was assisted by Daniel Cereza and Haruki Yamazaki. The goal was Zapata's third of the season.
Yamazaki later scored, unassisted in the twenty-fourth minute.
The Senators outshot the Bobcats 15-7 and had more corner kicks, 11-2.
The shots on goal weighed in the Senators favor as well as D&E had six shots on target and Wesleyan had only two.
D&E is 6-0 on the season and has recorded a clean sheet in all but one match. They have outscored opponents 24-1.
The Senators are now 5-0 in Mountain East Conference play and will face Frostburg State at home Sunday, September 25 at 7pm.
