BRIDGEPORT. W. Va. - The Davis & Elkins Men's Soccer team saw ten players earn a place on All-MEC teams, as announced by the league office.
Four Senators landed on the conference First Team, including Senior Forward
Cristhian Bosquez, Senior Midfielder
Haruki Yamazaki, and Junior Defensemen
Manuel Castrejon and
Davide Materazzi. Bosquez was also recognized for his conference-leading offensive statistics, and was named MEC Offensive Player of the Year for his efforts.
Bosquez lead the Mountain East Conference and ranked 15
th nationally in goals per game this season. He found the back of the net 14 times on the season and finished the year with 30 total points, which ranked second in the league. He passed out two assists on the season. Bosquez fired 58 total shots on the season, with 34 of the shots scoring or requiring a save. He averaged 1.76 points per game and also had two game-winning goals on the season.
Named to the All-MEC Second Team for the Senators were Seniors
Daniel Cerezo and
Alex Estrada-Avila, and Sophomore standouts
Kevin Zapata,
O'Keefe Cunningham, and
Martin Lago.
Freshman phenom
Beltran Fernandez earned an Honorable Mention, and the D&E Keeper was also named to the All-MEC Freshman Team.
