ELKINS, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College men's basketball team travels to Salem, West Virginia tonight to take on the Tigers. The Senators are coming off a 74-73 loss at Wheeling this past Saturday.
The Tigers are coached by Davis & Elkins alum Brett Rector. Rector has done an outstanding job in his first year as head coach for the D2 Independent program. Salem is 12-5 on the season.
Fonz Hale leads the Tigers in scoring with an average of 21.6 points per game, he is followed by Tobias Howard Jr. 17.4 and Stan Smith 12.4. Darius Bell leads the team in rebounds grabbing 6.4 a night.
D&E travels to Salem 6-13 overall and 4-10 in the Mountain East Conference.
The Senators are led by
Sam Rolle IV. Rolle averages 21.3 ppg and dishes out 5.4 assists.
Breland Walton averages 16.4 ppg and 9.4 rebounds.
The non-conference game is set for 6:00pm on Mike Carey Court.
