The Davis & Elkins track team continued their individual record breaking indoor track season with three more school records broken at the Youngstown State University hosted Collegiate Mid-Major Invitational.
Henry Schmidt started things off Friday night breaking the 5000m record running 14:43.48 to finish 6th overall in the event and the top D2 finisher. His time ranks him 4th in the Atlantic Region.
Second record of the meet was set in the 1000m where Leon Steinkrug made it two records in two weeks running 2:32.7. Also under the previous record was Jackson Gibson (2:37.5).
Saturdays action started with a huge performance in the Mile race which saw Carter McKenna take the overall event win running 4:15.53 to break yet another record. The time currently is ranked 2nd in the Atlantic Region.
Carter now has broken records on back to back weekends between the Mile and 3000m with his 3000m being the fastest time in the Atlantic Region.
Other strong performances on the weekend included:
5000m: Thijs Terlouw (15:16), Nizar Sweileh (15:20), RJ Weiford (15:28), and Jan Thewes (15:54).
On the women's side Madi Michels finished in 19:13 in her first ever track 5000m.
Mile: Tijmen Bouw (4:32) and Thijs Terlouw (4:33).
