- How It Happened: Davis & Elkins stayed within striking distance throughout the second half, but could never close the gap in a 94-88 loss to Charleston (W. Va.). Davis & Elkins was powered by a tri of 20-point scorers in the contest, including a team-high 25 points from Myles Monroe on 11-of-15 shooting from the floor. Erkam Kiris poured in 22 points and grabbed six boards, while Donte Doleman had 23 points with four shots coming from beyond the arc.
DAVIS & ELKINS NOTES
- D&E limited Concord to just 24 points in the first half last time out, had a pair of players in double figures and notched nine steals in its win against the Mountain Lions. Gyasi Powell was sensational with 19 points (8-13 FG), two rebounds, four assists and four steals. Breland Walton added his third double-double in four games with 17 points and 13 boards.
- Marcus Fleming and Sam Rolle IV each average 15.5 points/game, while Myles Monroe sits at 9.8 points/game to round out the starting lineup.
- Monroe had a strong outing in the Senators' final meeting with Charleston last February. The senior poured in 25 points, grabbed four rebounds and added a steal in 33 minutes.
- The Senators enter third in the league in rebounding offense (43.0) and third in field goal percentage (.475).
- Kyle Leslie canned a pair of three-pointers last time out against Concord, adding three rebounds and an assist in just 14 minutes of action.

- Charleston is a balanced lineup, with seven players averaging 8.0 points/game or better. Lamont McManus leads the charge for the Golden Eagles, posting averages of 12.8 points/game and 4.3 rebounds/game.

- Shaun Monroe led the Golden Eagles to an 83-60 road win against Notre Dame (Ohio) last Saturday. Leading by 11 at the intermission, Charleston cruised in the second half in its second win of the season.
- Dwaine Osborn is in his eighth season at Charleston, collecting over 130 career wins and leading the squad to the MEC Championship game three times in seven seasons.
