PREVIEW: Senators Look to Right the Ship Against Glenville State

THE OPENING TIP 
Remaining home for the second consecutive contest, Davis & Elkins hosts Glenville State on Wednesday night inside the McDonnell Center. The Senators continue to work their way through the conference gauntlet following a 91-57 loss to Charleston (W. Va.) over the weekend. Glenville State has dropped four in a row, most recently a 129-89 road defeat to West Liberty.

  • How It Happened: Edmund Parker and Patrick Wilburn each had a double-double as the Senators held off a second half charge from visiting Glenville State in an 80-75 home win against the Pioneers.
 
DAVIS & ELKINS NOTES 
  • Donte Doleman is one of three players to average 20 points or better in conference play this season.
  • Teemu Tumanoff was active last time out against his former team, posting six points, three rebounds, two blocks and an assist in 20 minutes last time out.
  • Myles Monroe fired in a team-high 16 points and swiped a season-high three steals against the Golden Eagles. Monroe is second on the team in scoring average (12.9) and rebounding average (5.9).
  • Patrick Wilburn has started in five consecutive contests for D&E, posted at least seven points in each of the last four outings.
  • Mandela Baledrokadroka has played 22 minutes or more in each of the last four games and leads the team with 38 assists. Currently five players have handed out 20 or more assists.
  • D&E posted its highest block total in a game since December 7 against West Liberty with four against the Golden Eagles.

SCOUTING GLENVILLE STATE
  • Phil Bledsoe is one of the top statistical threats in the MEC, leading the conference in scoring average (23.4) while ranking second in rebounding average (9.8). He's recorded eight double-doubles so far this season.
  • Glenville State has attempted nearly 500 three-point field goals this season, the eighth most in the country.
  • The Pioneers crash the glass on the offensive end, pulling down 15.21 offensive rebounds/game, which leads the MEC and ranks fourth nationally.
  • Ty Robinson is a force inside and leads the MEC with 32 blocks this season.
  • GSC averages nearly 100 points per contest, eclipsing the century mark five times this season. The Pioneers have the second highest scoring total in a game this season, notching 146 against Carlow.
  • Justin Caldwell is in his second year at Glenville State, the 19th head coach in program history.
