ELKINS, W.Va - Senators sweep rival Alderson Broaddus and get their seventh win in a row in a G-MAC doubleheader.

The first game was a close battle. D&E started off strong scoring three runs right in the first inning. First, Alyssa Cairns singled to right field and Jordan Crawford scored, unearned. After that, Ryn Boelter doubled to center field, scoring Cairns and Kelsie Millner, both unearned.

The Battlers didn't make it easy for Davis & Elkins, scoring one run in the following inning, and two more in the top of the fourth, tying the game 3-3.

D&E responded right in the bottom of the same inning, scoring one more when Amy Fincham scored after Katie Mason singled to right field.

After loading bases, Ryn Boelter reached first base on an error by the shortstop, scoring Cairns, unearned. The Senators closed it off in the sixth inning 5-3.

Haley Grindstaf pitched seven innings for Davis & Elkins, counting a total of four strikeouts.

The second game was easier for D&E, who didn't allow any runs in the entire game.

The first two runs came in the second and third innings. Jade Allee doubled to center field and scored Rhetta Persinger, while Kelsie Millner singled to score Crawford.

The game went scoreless until the sixth and last inning when D&E scored six runs. Cairns scored Millner and then scored too, unearned. Sydney Carter also scored a run, unearned.

When Manson came up to bat, she singled to right field, and Allee and Kaylinn Parks scored after a throwing error. Crawford grounded out to second base and Fincham scored the last run of the day for the Senators, unearned, to end it at 8-0.

Jade Allee pitched all six innings for Davis & Elkins, getting three strikeouts.

The Senators will return to action this Friday for another G-MAC doubleheader against Trevecca Nazarene University. The games are set for 3:00 and 5:00 PM.
