Davis & Elkins College Men's Tennis played competitive matches throughout the day, but couldn't close out any of them against the visiting Lake Superior State Lakers on Wednesday afternoon at the Thomas Tennis Center.
Obert Matthew Mulyadi and
Alejandro Meseguer opened up play with a 6-4 win over Joe Gilman and Ali Sahebzada at #1 doubles. The Lakers would win the doubles point with a 6-4 win at #2 doubles, and a 6-3 win at #3 doubles.
Mulyadi, Meseguer, and
Alvaro Legoinha would all force decisive third-sets in their matches.
Mulyadi fell just short of Joe Gilman, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. Meseguer won the first set against Ali 6-4, but Ali rallied to win in three sets, with a final score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Legoinha won his first set against Luis Valderrama 6-4, but Valderrama would take the match by a final score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
The Senators will head down to Florida for Spring Break next week, opening up play against Florida Tech on Monday at 12:30 PM. The match will be played at DeSoto Tennis Center in Satellite Beach, FL.
