LEXINGTON, Va. -
The Davis & Elkins College Men's and Women's Track and Field programs competed in the VMI Winter Relays on Friday and Saturday, at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia.
The Senators competed in a field among several Division I programs, but came away with several impressive performances, and numerous broken school records.
Felix Buck-Gramcko won the Mile with a school-record time of 4:17.55.
Newcomer
Emeric Arnaud continued his torrid start to his career, breaking school records in the 3K Run (8:42.43), and 5K Run (15:09), en route to an overall race win in the 5K.
Daniel Jarrell broke the school record in the 200m with a time of 22.48.
On the Women's side, three school records fell over the weekend.
Samantha Kirk broke her own record in the 400m, eclipsing the minute mark with a time of 59.63.
Skylee Watson picked up a record in the 1K run at 3:17.63.
The 4x400 Relay team of
Roxanne McFarlin,
Roxine Chambers,
Jakeya Perrin, and
Samantha Kirk shattered the school record, finishing in 4:03.79.
Both Track & Field teams will return to the track on Friday, February 22nd at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships in Findlay, Ohio.
