OPENING TIP
Set to make their home debut for the 2019-20 basketball season, the Davis & Elkins Senators will begin a stretch of three home games in the span of five days. The Senators begin the early-season homestand on Thursday, welcoming former G-MAC opponent Ohio Valley to the McDonnell center, before taking on Clarion on Saturday and Cal U (Pa.) on Monday.

The D&E acrobatics & tumbling team will also take the court at halftime on Thursday for a performance of its modified team event. This will be the first chance to see the Senators prior to the start of their season in February.

DAVIS & ELKINS NOTES
- The Senators experimented with several different lineup combinations in their first two games against opponents from the GLIAC.
- D&E dropped its opening games of the season against Ferris State and Grand Valley State, but had four different players register double figure scoring over the weekend.
- Kyle Leslie provided a spark off the bench in the Senators season opener, recording 14 points in 12 minutes with five rebounds. Myles Monroe was stellar off the bench the following day, pouring in a team-high 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting.
- Donte Doleman picked up where he left off last season as a key contributor for the Senators. He leads the team in scoring (26) and points/game (13.0).
- Erkam Kiris recorded his first career double-double in a D&E uniform against the Lakers on Sunday with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
- The Senators will look for better performances out of the locker room as the team has been outscored 87-66 over the first two games in the second half. Facing two potent offenses, D&E opponents are shooting 45.9% from the floor so far in the young season.
- 11 players have seen the floor for the Senators this season under first year head coach Daniel Mondragon.

SCOUTING OHIO VALLEY
- Ohio Valley has just 12 wins dating back to the 2017-18 season, but have won three consecutive games in the season with Davis & Elkins.
- The Fighting Scots lead the country in free throw percentage (94.5%), converting on 14 of 15 chances at the charity stripe.
- The Fighting Scots are 0-2 on the season, opening the year with a 108-73 defeat to Lindenwood. Dylan Harrison notched a game-high 25 points in the loss as Ohio Valley committed 21 turnovers on the day.
- The Fighting Scots second game of the season was a 91-71 loss to Illinois Springfield on November 9. Harrison (20), Parker Black (12), Vukasian Garic (11) each posted double digits in 30+ minutes of action.
- Head coach Mike Snell is in his 12th season of the Ohio Valley men's program, taking the reigns back in 2008.
- OVU swept the season series with D&E in 2018-19, posting a victory in Elkins on February 14. Kenneth Miller had 23 points as the Fighting Scots tied a program mark for wins in a season (9) with the narrow two-point victory over the Senators.

SCOUTING CLARION
- Clarion will come to Elkins on Saturday for its first game since November 10, a 97-79 road loss to Glenville State.
- James Price (21) and Aaron Hilzendeger (20) each eclipsed the 20-point plateau for the golden Eagles, while Kaison Branch passed out nine assists.
- Clarion went 6-20 last season, but snapped a five-game skid with a victory over Cal U in the regular season finale.
- Damian Pitts, a longtime assistant at Millersville, took the Clarion job in June. He is the 13th head coach in the history of the program and was the former head coach of Centenary.
- Branch is 28th nationally with 15 assists in two games for Clarion.
- The Golden Eagles opened the season with a 78-63 loss to Elizabeth City State on November 9.

SCOUTING CAL U
- The Vulcans suffered a pair of losses in the season-opening Shepherd Clarion Hotel Classic, falling to Bowie State (86-84) and Charleston (W. Va.) (72-71). The team's two losses have come by a combined three points.
- Cal U hosts Salem (W. Va.) on November 13 prior to its trip to Elkins on Monday.
- The Vulcans lost as time expired to the Golden Eagles of Charleston, as Brent Pegram led the way with 16 points.
- Cal U was picked fifth in a loaded PSAC West division. The Vulcans return three starters from last season for head coach Danny Sancomb, who is in his second season.
- The Vulcans are an aggressive team, ranking 34th in NCAA DII with 9.5 steals/game.
