Box Score HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Team fell to Ferris State 8-1 Wednesday morning on the third day of matches for the Senators spring break trip.
The Senators fell behind early, dropping all three doubles matches. However, the Senators played two tight matches at No. 1 and No. 2.
In No. 1 doubles,
Obert Matthew Mulyadi and
Alejandro Meseguer pushed the top paring for Ferris State of Steward Sell and Nur Adim Iswan before falling 8-4.
Andrew Shand and
Tristram Spitsnaugle also fell 8-4 in their No. 2 doubles match to Austin DeBruyne and Daniil Tarantinov.
Shand and Spitsnaugle also had the tightest matches of the day in singles play, both going to a third-set tiebreaker.
Spitsnaugle picked up a win in his singles match against Mathis Guerre, recovering from a second set defeat to win 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (10-7).
Shand overcame a first set loss to force a tiebreaker, but eventually fell 6-3, 6-7 (3), 1-0 (10-5).
The Senators will wrap up their spring break trip on Thursday with another morning match, taking on Palm Beach Atlantic at 8:30 a.m.
