Box Score ELKINS – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Tennis team closed out the fall semester today with a 7-0 victory over West Virginia State at the Thomas Tennis Center.
 
The Senators started off the day by earning the doubles point with a pair of convincing victories. In the No. 1 match, Alejandro Meseguer and Obert Matthew Mulyadi defeated Noah Fulks and Dylan Jayasuriya 6-0.
 
In the No. 2 match, Samuel Bowman and Mason Schoonover picked up a 6-1 victory over Ethan Cross and Zach Fraley.
 
In singles play, Cody Turner started off the sweep for the Senators with a 6-1, 6-2 victory in the No. 6 match over Austin Gessel.
 
The match was then decided with a convincing victory for Meseguer, who didn't drop a point in either of his matches, defeating Fulks 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 match.
 
In the No. 3 match, Alvaro Legoinha, who won in doubles by walk over, too made quick work of his singles match, beating Jayasuriya 6-1, 6-1.
 
Legoinha's doubles partner Andrew Shand was the next deciding singles match defeating Ethan Cross 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 2 match.
 
Bowman closed out the sweep for the Senators in the No. 4 match, winning 6-2, 6-1 over Fraley.
 
Davis & Elkins will have the rest of the fall semester off before returning to play on February 8-9 as the Senators take part in the Charleston Invitational hosted at the University of Charleston.
