OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Tennis team picked up an 8-1 win over Brescia University in non-conference play this evening.
The Senators swept through doubles competition in the match, with
Samuel Vallieres and
Matthew Alexander highlighting the segment with an 8-2 defeat of Turilo Duck and Kevin Larrea.
Tare Mariga and
Ivan Bonderanko also picked up an 8-4 in over Hector Horcajada and Jose Alcazar.
In singles play, Bonderanko defeated Horcajada 7-5, 6-2 in No. 1 singles.
Alexander and
Tristram Spitsnaugle needed a third set for their victories. Alexander defeated Alcazar 6-3, 6-7 (5-10), 1-0 (10-4). Spitsnaugle defeated Duck 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-3).
Jonathan Gainer picked up the other point for the Senators, defeating Kevin Larrea 6-4, 6-1.
The Senators will take on Cedarville tomorrow to open G-MAC play.
