ELKINS, W.Va. (Feb. 12, 2025) — Davis & Elkins College fell to Glenville State, 91-56, in a Mountain East Conference women's basketball contest Wednesday evening at the McDonnell Center.
The Senators (2-19, 1-14 MEC) struggled to find their rhythm early, managing just four points in the first quarter while Glenville State (15-8, 9-6 MEC) jumped to an 18-4 lead. D&E responded with an 18-point second quarter, but the Pioneers' depth and pressure defense proved too much, as they pulled away with a dominant third quarter, outscoring the Senators 30-13.
Kylie Morris led Davis & Elkins with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting, adding two rebounds. Jahniya Marion contributed nine points, hitting the team's only three-pointer. Alexis Smith and Josiany Canales each added eight points, while Canales also recorded four assists and four steals.
The Pioneers forced 24 turnovers and capitalized with 21 points off those miscues. Glenville State also held a 46-25 rebounding advantage and outscored the Senators 42-30 in the paint.
