ERIE, Pa. -- In a non-conference matchup at the Hagerty Family Events Center, the Davis & Elkins College women's basketball team fell to Gannon University with a final score of 78-40 on Nov. 10.
D&E came out sluggish against an assertive start by Gannon, who jumped out to a 24-5 lead in the first quarter. The Senators (0-2) worked to close the gap in the second, scoring 14 points. Freshman Jahniya Marion led Davis & Elkins with 14 points, while senior Josiany Canales contributed seven points and six rebounds. Freshman Sophia Toscano added five points off the bench.
Gannon (5-0) utilized a balanced attack with four players scoring in double digits, maintaining control throughout the game with a strong inside presence and rebounding advantage, totaling 57 boards to Davis & Elkins' 31.
