FROSTBURG, Md. -- The Davis & Elkins College women's soccer team fell to Mountain East Conference North Division leaders Frostburg State (8-1-1, 6-0-1 MEC) 4-0 in a tough road match on October 9, 2024, at Bobcat Stadium. Despite strong defensive efforts from the Senators (0-9-1, 0-7-1 MEC), they were unable to overcome a quick-starting Frostburg State team.

The Bobcats opened the scoring in the 25th minute. Just 10 minutes later, Madison Allen doubled the Bobcats' lead, and Mollie Rebuck added a third goal before halftime, putting the Senators in a 3-0 deficit at the break.

D&E's senior goalkeeper Monica Birkelund made several saves in the first half, recording four on 11 shots, but Frostburg's relentless attack proved challenging. Sophomore Deimante Antoine took over goalkeeping duties in the second half and made three saves on seven shots, but Frostburg added a fourth goal in the 54th minute.

The Senators struggled offensively, managing just seven total shots with three on target. Christyna Armijo had two of the team's best chances in the second half, but Frostburg's goalkeeper made crucial saves to preserve the shutout.

Despite the loss, the Senators showed some resilience, particularly through the defensive work of players like Manoela Piraja and Alyssa Deleonibus, who fought hard to limit Frostburg's scoring opportunities in the second half.
