ELKINS, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins Senators volleyball team fell in straight sets to West Virginia State on Friday night at the McDonnell Center. The Yellow Jackets controlled the match from the start, winning 25-20, 25-18, 25-17.

Reanne Debose led the Senators' offense with nine kills, while Gracjana Rozanska added four kills and three service aces. Despite their efforts, the Senators struggled with errors, hitting .000 as a team with 17 kills and 17 errors on 99 attempts.

Haylie Marumoto provided 14 assists for D&E (4-7, 1-3 MEC), while Clara Caralt anchored the defense with 10 digs. The Senators tallied six service aces but also committed 15 service errors, which hindered their momentum throughout the match.

West Virginia State (8-8, 3-0 MEC) was paced by Hannah Steele, who posted 11 kills with a .375 hitting percentage. The Yellow Jackets finished with 46 kills and hit .277 as a team.
