Buckhannon, W.Va. -- West Virging Wesleyan pulled away from Davis & Elkins in the second half to hand the Senators a 76-64 defeat.
Alexis Smith led the offense for the Senators scoring 15 points.
The Bobcats jumped out to an early lead holding onto a 19-13 at the end of the 1st quarter. The second quarter saw the Bobcats extend their lead to as many as 12 points before the Senators ended the half on a 13-3 run to cut the lead to 35-33 at halftime.Â
The 3rd quarter would be a back-and-forth affair until the Bobcats ended the quarter on a 10-2 run over the final 2:35 to take a 9-point advantage into the 4th quarter. The Senators would shoot the ball well from the field in the 4th quarter going 6-11 (54.55%) but wouldn't be able to cut into the Bobcats lead.
Madison Butler played well for the Senators scoring 12 points and adding 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Jaela Reid and
Taylor Smith would each add 9 points for the Senators.
