Elkins, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins scored 42 points in the second half but it wasn't enough to overcome a halftime deficit and fell to the University of Charleston 70-58.
Taylor Smith led the way for the Senators offense with 18 points on 6-12 shooting, including 3-6 from the three-point line.
The Golden Eagles held the Senators to 6-30 (20%) shooting in the first half in route to a 32-16 halftime lead. The Senators would make adjustments at halftime and shot 15-28 (53.57%) from the field in the second half. They used the strong shooting effort to cut the Golden Eagles lead to 5 points with 6:41 to play but wouldn't be able to close the gap down the stretch.
Jaela Reid chipped in 10 points on 4-8 shooting for the Senators.
