ELKINS, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins faced a tough test in their home opener in the form of back-to-back Conference Carolinas champion and NCAA qualifier, UNC Pembroke.
Powered by a hattrick by the Braves' Abigail Lowry, who entered twenty-two minutes into the contest and a booming and indefensible free kick connected on by senior All-American, Anna Grossheim, Pembroke put six goals on the scoreboard before halftime.
The score remained 6-0 throughout the second half as neither team was able to score.
In total, Pembroke was able to get off twenty-five total shots, with fourteen on goal compared to just four shots for D&E and three on goal.
D&E's
Alaina Laurence managed seven saves in the game.
With the loss, D&E falls to 0-2 on the season, while Pembroke moves to 1-1.
