NEW ORLEANS -- The Davis & Elkins Women's Cross Country Team moved up one spot in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country NCAA Division II Atlantic Region poll.
After competing in the Lock Haven Invitational and beating Slippery Rock by one point, the committee kept the Senators ahead of Slippery Rock, but Lock Haven fell four spots from second to sixth.
Charleston remains the Athletic Region's top ranked team according to the poll.
Slippery Rock also moved up one spot in this week's poll, from third to second, while Bloomsburg leapfrogged Edinboro and Lock Haven to move from sixth to fourth. Edinboro remained in the fifth slot. Shippensburg, East Stroudsburg, Kutztown, and Gannon round out the top ten.
Both D&E teams compete next Friday (October 6) at Queens University of Charlotte, before setting their sights on the Mountain East Conference Championships on October 21 and the Atlantic Regional Championships on November 4. Lock Haven plays host to this year's Regional.
