WHEELING, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins dropped a pair of road baseball games to Wheeling University on Monday. The first game was all Wheeling, but the second game came down to the final play as Wheeling won in walk off fashion.

GAME ONE
Davis & Elkins College fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 12-3 loss. The Cardinals took the lead on a sacrifice fly in the first inning.
Wheeling scored six runs in the fourth inning.
Jake Garrett started the game for Davis & Elkins College. The southpaw surrendered seven runs on five hits over three and a third innings, striking out two. Wes Athey,
Payton McCourt, and
Brycen Sechler each contributed in relief for Davis & Elkins College.
Davis & Elkins College racked up six hits in the game.
Larry Kusan and
Jake Spearen each had a pair of hits for D&E.
GAME TWO
It came down to the last play, but Davis & Elkins College was on the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat. The game was tied at one with Wheeling University batting in the bottom of the seventh when Braden Killens doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Wheeling University pitchers struck out four, while Davis & Elkins College sat down three.
Jake Spearen was on the mound for Davis & Elkins College. The pitcher lasted six and a third innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out three.
