ELKINS, W.Va. -- It took ninety minutes of overtime, an additional twenty minutes of double-overtime play, and ten shootout attempts, but Davis & Elkins ended the stalemate victorious Sunday evening in the Quarterfinal Round of the Mountain East Conference Men's Soccer Championship. With the win over West Liberty, the Senators will move on to the Semifinals to face Notre Dame on Wednesday.
Despite outshooting the Hilltoppers 27-8 (19-6 in regulation) and having 13 shots on goal to West Liberty's 5, D&E was unable to find the net. West Liberty's veteran goalkeeper, Noah Underwood was tested often by the D&E attack.
Shemar Daley was the biggest challenge faced by Underwood. Daley had 12 shots and 7 on goal for D&E.
Franco Casullo added 3 shots and 2 shots on goal.

Grant Wyles also ensured West Liberty was unable to score with five saves of his own.
Following regulation and two, ten-minute overtime periods, the two keepers were test once more as they lined up to face penalty kicks with the score 0-0.
The teams traded goals back-and-forth until Wyles made a diving stop to end the game and D&E up 5-4 in shootout goals made.

Win the win, the Senators move to the Championship Semifinal as their record sits at 8-6-4 overall and 7-5-2 in the MEC.
