Milburn Scores Career-high as D&E is Upended on the Road

WHEELING, W.Va. -- Junior Kaylee Milburn's career-high 19 points weren't enough to help Davis & Elkins overcome the undefeated Wheeling Cardinals on the road.

Wheeling continued its hot play in its Mountain East Conference women's basketball matchup with D&E as the two came out scoring in bulk in the first period. Wheeling led going into the second quarter 31-21.

The pace slowed a bit in the second frame as the Senators outscored Wheeling 15-13, but trailed 44-36 heading to the locker room.

The Cardinals poured in 24 points to D&E's 8 in the third quarter to go up by 24 heading into the final quarter.

D&E chipped into the lead a bit in the fourth quarter 22-14 and fell 82-66.

Milburn, whose previous best outing was a 17-point performance last season, added 6 rebounds, 4 blocks, 2 assists, and 1 steal.
